2018 was big for new innovations in the beauty industry, but this year what are some of the trends hitting our shores in 2019.
In 2019, our product lines will continue to deliver cutting edge product innovation along with evolving their professional treatments and we are excited to announce that as early as January we will see some new heroes from our current product lines launch into the Australian marketplace… so stay tuned!
We already understand that pollution is not good for health and with pollution on the rise, specific skin care products to treat the effects of pollution will become more important. We can target this skin aggressor by using products that detox, purify and help guard your skin against the damaging effects of pollution. Expect to see more buzz around pollution and the effects it has on the skin.
Last year, masks were hugely popular and in 2019 this will be no different. Masks are still creating a stir in the beauty arena, however, individual masks for specific areas look set to become popular. We launched our very own bio cellulose facial masks with great success in 2018. Our two new sheet masks target anti-ageing and hydration and use natural biocellulose which are a superior, more hydrating and natural mask.
Professional treatments will become more bespoke and customised to target your specific concerns in areas like the eyes or neck. Non- invasive treatments will also be a focus using the power of light and ultrasound to rejuvenate the skin. Home facial devices will be popular too. DIY facial tools that are designed to help to infuse product, clean the skin and derma rollers will be popular.
Customisation will be at the forefront in 2019. At prodermal, we have always understood that personalised skin care in important for great results and we can provide you with a customised skin care regime through our face to face consultations, e-consultations and we are available to answer any question you may have about your skin care goals.
2018 was the year of gut health, an emerging science but understanding the guts importance and our microbiome is still a big topic in 2019. You can now find support supplements that aim to improve overall health and wellness in this area. The microbiome of the skin is another area of interest. A balanced skin microbiome equates to healthy immunity and therefore a healthy skin, so we can expect to see skin care formulations that target the microbiome of the skin too.
In the wellness arena, it’s time to rebalance with nature, sleep, silence and digital detoxing to allow us to disconnect from our every day increasing demands. More people are “tuning” in to tune out and the population’s need for moments of disconnection is only increasing. There’s a plethora of new gadgets and apps that give you detailed data like sleep times, sleep patterns, stress indication, heart rate as well as apps that provide everything from rainforest to bush sounds to help you relax, wind down and sleep better. Many companies are jumping on this trend, like Bose, who have developed “sleep buds”. They use pre-loaded, soothing masking sounds to cover up unwanted night time noises so you can get to sleep and stay asleep.
Stay tuned as we launch new products and offers from our current product lines in 2019 and remember to keep up to date through our blogs, videocasts and how-to’s.
Happy New Year!
Yours in
skin,
